I'll show you pictures and a movie that shows you each step.
What Is Malai Kofta?
'Malai' means cream, and 'Kofta' means fried balls of different ingredients common in Indian, Middle Eastern, Balkan, and Asian food. The types of kofta I've seen most often are made with potatoes and mixed vegetables. I'm Indian and a vegetarian.
Still, some koftas are made with different kinds of meat, like Italian meatballs or Middle Eastern kebabs. Malai kofta is a popular Indian food that people worldwide want to eat, and for good reason. Making the dish takes a lot of work, but it's worth it.
This recipe for malai kofta tastes like it came from a restaurant. The kofta is made with cheese and potatoes. Deep-frying these tasty dumplings makes them crispy on the outside and incredibly smooth on the inside. They are then dipped in a light, soft, sweet curry. When you mix the kofta with the curry, it tastes great. You have to try it to understand!
Reasons This Recipe Is Effective
Malai kofta recipes come in a lot of different forms. You can make this malai paneer kofta at home, though, and it's one of the best. This recipe will last. The curry sauce in this dish is made from tomato puree, ground cashew paste, and onion paste. It's rich and smooth because of the cashew paste. I also add some cream for a fancy taste since this dish is often made for parties or special events. You don't have to add the cream, though.
Undoubtedly, the kofta itself is very soft and has a perfect texture. There is nothing better than a gift than these dumplings. They are golden brown on the outside and melt in your mouth on the inside. This recipe makes enough paneer kofta for 7 to 8 people, plus the curry, to feed 3 to 4 people. Malai kofta is a hefty and rich dish, so one or two should be enough for each person.
Is Malai Kofta Vegetarian And Vegan?
Malai kofta can be made with this method, but it's not vegan. If you leave out the paneer and add more potatoes, you can make malai kofta meatless. You can create this vegan malai kofta recipe by leaving out the malai/cream we put at the end as a treat.
How To Prepare Malai Kofta?
To begin, make the koftas, dumplings made of potatoes, paneer (an Indian soft cheese), and toasted peanuts (and raisins if you like). Spice it with salt, pepper, and chili, and add rice flour and corn flour to hold it together.
Form kofta balls from this potato and paneer mix, then coat them in corn flour. Put them in the fridge for 30 minutes to cool down before deep-frying them until they turn golden brown.
To make the gravy for the malai kofta cook onions tomatoes and cashews in oil. Put in a blender and mix until smooth. Mix cardamom cumin jeera and chili powder in a pan. Once they are hot add the onion and tomato puree. Once the gravy gets thicker add the koftas right before you serve.
